Double Standards
I'm sorry you don't meet these standards
So please sit quietly and mind your manners.
Hold up your head but not too high
Do what I say and don't ask why.
Paint on your make-up but don't cake your face
Show a little skin but don't be a disgrace.
For this is how it should be
Of course, because it's the land of the free.
Speak up but not aggressively
Raise up your children accordingly.
Make your house luxurious
Don't get too curious.
Don't fret or complain
Hold on, sorry. I have to get back to the old ball and chain.
