I hear the simple nursestalking with complex terms,

not sure of my fate.

I hear the simple doctors,

yelling complex instructions.

I hear my simple parents,

scared for their child's complex life. I see the complex IV attached to my arm,

and the simple scare it left on me.

The darkness that I endured,

keeps me simple and thankful

In the end,

we are all complex.
