Legs churning
Flying across the top of the short green grass
Feet pounding
Chasing you down the field
Crowd cheering
Pumping through me, my adrenaline pushes me faster
Coaches yelling
Fading into a background hum
Eyes traveling
To my cleats hitting the damp ground
Squishing in the mud
To the ball spinning through the grass
whoosh whoosh
To the goalie
Our eyes meet
The ball flies
Defenders crash into my back
The ball smashes into the empty back of the goal
Crowd cheering is all I can hear
