Do Good

I’m still young
But what have I done?
As if water trickles through my fingers
Drip, drip, drip…
When will I run dry?

If I built a mountain,
It would crumble away.
Is there anything I could create
That would actually stay?

I’m still young
But that won’t last long.
Time goes by quick--
Tick, tick, tick…
I want to be more than a face in a crowd.

One atom, like one person, is weak
Almost insignificant,
But when many come together
We create something magnificent.

Maybe it doesn’t matter
If our names are only on our tombstones
Because we can still do good in little things
We can change the world, unknown.

It’s good to come together and take a stand as one.
It’s good to change a person’s life, or be somebody’s sun.
Neither way is any better than the other
Either way, what you do is how you’ll be remembered.
