Beat the sun down on our backs,
On our backs there are no packs.
Let the sun shine in our eyes,
Hear no more of winter’s cries.
See no more the clouds of gray,
Instead show the light of day.

Summer here and summer there,
Feel and breathe the summer air!

Feel no more the fall of snow,
Now that all the plants can grow.
Petals of the flowers bloom,
Through the morning and past noon.
The light of sun will shine so late,
The moon will have to sit and wait.

Summer here and summer there,
Feel and breathe the summer air!

All the bears will come outside,
After winter’s long, long hide.
Then the lakes will melt of snow,
All the swimming fish will know.
Dread of winter’s gone and done,
Summer’s battle’s lost and won.

Summer here and summer there,
Feel and breathe the summer air!
