What is that thing up above?
A seraph, a plane, a jet, a dove?
Just then, the man let out a cry
While he soared, hundreds of feet in the sky

“I am the Winged Man!”, the man spoke
“I am far superior to the average bloke!”
He tumbled and soared
All of the world soon adored
The creature known as the Winged Man

Soon a man in a jetpack came,
Absconding with all of Winged Man’s fame
“I am the king of the sky,” the Winged Man did cry,
“I will be such until the day I die!”
“Let us race,” Jetpack Man did suggest,
“Let us put those wings of yours to the test.”

The race was scheduled for three,
Broadcasted for the whole world to see
Wings or Jetpack? Who did prevail?
The winner of the race, an undocumented tale

No one saw, no one cared
Not even their closest friends so much as glared
At the TV set, displaying wings and pack
No one saw, no one looked back

The fans of them both moved on,
Looking to the sky while mowing the lawn
To see the two, engaged forever in a race
With no true winner, no real first place
