Fluttering in the wind
Her pale blue dress
A southern creole belle prepares for

The air thick its scent rich
Filled with spice and bacon drippings
Her mother's gumbo made for

The sound drifts carried with the melody of the wind
trumpets blare accompanied by a steady beat
Her father's Jazz band plays for

Friends and family flood the streets for
Parasols of every color bathe the street for

This is her brother's funeral
