It was a movie.

That’s all it ever was.

You loved watching it. You loved watching it.

But you always wanted more.

You wanted to free it from the glass screen and black box.

It helped you, though.

It let you feel.

You felt through the lives of the characters.

They were never really your feelings, but you liked to think they were because feeling felt good.

The film. You watched it and rewatched it.

Fast forwarded and rewound until you internalized the script.

You made the story yours.

It was never really your story.

The films, though. The films were always more than characters behind a screen.

They were in your head.   You saw them,    you heard them, you felt them.     You were them.

They gave you feelings, yes.

But you gave them life.

Baby, put down the film before it consumes you. Don’t let it consume you.
