Uncommon Sense
I remember when you used to call
We would sit and rest in each others voice
The emotional bubble made any distance disappear
Taking my stresses with it
You had an uncommon sense for my problems
Pouring rocks on my fire instead of water
Yet the rocks suffocated the fire
And solved more than any water ever had
You found the diamonds in my rough soul
And made them the gems that defined me
You had an uncommon sense for my problems
Allowing my river to flow through the darkness
With such strides in the current
Never rushing but always moving
You had an uncommon sense for my problems
But the uncommon sense led to the discovery of me
And all of the things I am meant to be
