Winter's Beauty

April 21, 2017
By Anonymous

The silence is absolute, aside the

occasional songs of birds and the

distant rumble of a train

Nothing in sight except bare

wilderness and a landscape view

of the sleeping giant

Snow up to your knees,

Untouched

Trees covered in frozen sap

The bitter chill seeps through even

the thickest of layers

Every breath burns the lungs

Not a single remnant of the once

green summer remains

The sky is mixed of white and

purple, no warmth of the sun

penetrates its thick cloak

yet it is bright

I find beauty in this harsh winter,

solace in its silence.
