the role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say. -anais nin

It's about the lights
And the stolen clothes
And maybe the missing pieces.
It's about the crushes
That turn into first loves
That turn into the person
You don't recognize.
Count your small victories
Over huge losses
The pain that comes in waves
That you hold under
With songs
And car rides
And methods to settle shaking hands.
Your best friend
And their snap chats
And your laughs
And the stupid wonderful things
You do when you think it all makes sense.

Wow, I think you have a really good handle on tone and pacing. This piece flowed really well, and it was simultaneously simple and complex. I especially liked the last line. I would suggest not mentioning snapchats, though... It makes the poem more modern, but it's a bit jarring to read about. Text messages might be less jarring... Just a picky suggestion. I really like this piece; keep up the good work! :)
