There are things that break me
And things that make me
I won’t give up
I won’t give in
Though memories haunt my footsteps
And my heart cries echoes
Though tears run down my face like rivers
And threaten to sweep me away with them
I will not fall
I will stay alive
And in the end
I’ll flash back over those memories
Like lightning in the storm of the past
I’ll walk those paths I once knew
And tell my old self
My broken self
That for every second I felt pain
I still made it
Dear child
You made it
