i want to go back
to the days when
i drank chocolate milk
in the mornings
and drew stick figures
at school.
i want to go back
to the days when
my outfits didn’t matter
and my makeup
didn’t have to be perfect.
to the days when
the only thing
i “loved” was
my mom’s warm hugs.
when the only reason i cried
was the scrape on my knee.
when everything was simple.
when the world seemed
beautiful and bright.
