Friday Night Feelings
I get home from school on Saturday Eve
Such joy I have
No homework
free to do as I please
watch movies or play video games
Check social media to
see what’s happening
none of this entertains me or
holds my attention
I feel a gap
A gap in my heart, my soul, my being
That feeling is loneliness
I want to text a friend but
think of nothing to say
To chat or mingle, the time isn’t right
I sit down on my bed and
Think “Am I by myself in this gigantic world”
I wish for a friend to be there or
Someone closer
Someone to care
Someone to fill the gap, to banish my loneliness
I hope for a friend
To come by
I’ll just have to wait until Saturday
