In the absence of empathy, understanding met arrogance.
the pages flew across the table and broke your fall, caught you amidst the people washing up on the darkest shores of broken waves and hidden voices
eyes peeled I looked for you through the fogged up window, buzzed on my own emotions.
In the absence of compassion, love met pity
outstretched arms reached through the piles of questions drowning inside me, my thoughts smuggled them yet through the pain I still searched for you
struck by this outrage as a consequence, I forbid you to join me on this journey, so to find you ill go,
unless you’ve found yourself without me
