Senior Year
I remember when they said
“I’m leaving, I’m really going.”
My stomach sank and every memory
flashed through me.
6 months is forever.
But then days blow by and
senior year is ending.
Letters are being written already and
hours are turning minutes,
seconds.
3 months is never.
And now you are done but how
could you just be pushed to the side
as if you never existed?
As if you didn’t spend numerous months
collecting moments endlessly.
And now all you can think about is when the day will come
and you want it to just be over with already so you can stop sulking
but it will always be in the back of your mind.
But you never want it to end.
