Blazing House
I was surrounded
By the orange and red tulips
Bursting from the ground.
Crawling up my wall,
Leaving me in a path of destruction
Glass window panes shatter
And shards of pain cover the carpet,
With nothing left but darkness to consume the air.
I look around to see
Shapeless grey snowflakes
Covering my hair
And blanketing the place I once called home.
The smell that lingers through the air
Fills up my lungs with each breath.
It’s an unforgettable sting that causes my body
To shake.
I used to run around
These lifeless trees, but now with every footstep
I crunch through hopeless dreams and disbelief.
