a welcoming sight in a sea of green
a friendly gift that can be clearly seen
encouraging the homeless and those in need
to come ashore for a chance to be free
a crown of cooper and a torch of light
showing the way through the dark of night
leaving behind a home of dispair
giving you the hope to go anywhere
shes a constant reminder of what can be
to foreigners and immigrants who had to flee
their clothes in tatters and hair long too
now im proud of the red, white, and blue
