Masquerade
Who are you?
I may never know.
Your face is shadowed
By the mask you show.
I’ve watched you dance,
Hidden in twirling color.
You humble the music.
You dance with no other.
I hear you not
Amongst the laughter.
From you I hear
No meaningless chatter.
With no hint of fraught
You hold your own.
In this masquerade
You stand alone.
So who are you?
I will never know.
You remain concealed
In a mask’s shadow.
