Stars and Honey This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

March 19, 2017

I like to keep just a pinch of stars in my pocket
So that when dusk comes I can light up the world
And all that once seemed dim
Is now showered in light

I like to keep a handful of summer rain in my boots
So that when the drought comes
I’ve got a bit of that familiar, life-bringing nectar
Like honey from my lips
