Traffic
I find myself stuck in traffic.
I get out of the car, as we’ve been
stuck here for hours.
The world came to life around me
as I stepped onto the busy street.
Cars honking, people shouting.
It was a dream.
Lights flashing, music blaring, the
night sky glowing with the reflection
of all the new billboards and gaudy signs.
Nobody is in a rush to get somewhere.
It’s not like we could, even if we were.
We find ourselves stuck in traffic,
and we take in the little things around
us that we don’t normally give notice to.
