Grandma
The last time
I see my grandma
She is
so small
Surrounded by her grandchildren
Little kids towering over her
Engulfed by hospital blankets
Yet steady and calm
In the commotion that surrounds her
A steady stream of visitors
Cheeks red from the cold
Nurses rush in and out
Checking machines
adjusting the colorful tubes
That hold her down
Encage her
But amid the beeping machines
And rushing nurses
And smiling visitors
My grandma
So small now
Rests.
