Maine
eyes that see past rain,
arms that would fain constrain any hurt
in order to retrain a brain as insane
as one marked by pain
lips that kiss
and have slain
all the tear-stained thoughts that restrain and wane
any traces of happiness
hands holding
chained together
migraines fading
withering away
leaving every membrane, like champagne, bubbling with sensation
no why to explain
heart bursting with every sugarcane word
hard to sustain the overdose of chest pain
but, to obtain that warm embrace
means to attain love as addicting as cocaine
