Pool of Tears
A young, bright-eyed child
Another on a rug of tears
The origins of this pool of salty water?
A cobalt helmet
Featuring a yellow horn painted about the side
Before the tears
The blue cap raced around the house
Thud thud thud thud thud
Two pairs of feet gliding atop the floor
The pair in the back thirsting
Thirsting for the return of the helmet
And with a swift movement
The feet in front turnaround
And as quickly as they turn about
The feet in the back stop
One foot rises forward
Higher
And higher
And higher
Aiming for one thing and one thing only
The cajones

I created this piece from a memory of a time I was very rude to my friend. But, to be fair he wasn't giving back my helmet. I hope people can remember a time when maybe they weren't the nicest as a child and laugh at their past selves.
