This Life is a Lie
Cristopher Columbus never discovered America,
French fries weren't made in France.
Marie Antoinette never gave anyone cake,
And the Chinese didn't make fortune cookies.
You tell me I can be whatever I want,
But that's just a lie.
I can't be a mapmaker, NASA astronaut, or
A member of the Swiss Army (Because it doesn't exist.)
You also tell me that girls can't be
President of the United States.
I think of your lies as I
take my oath of office.
This life is a lie,
But one day we'll find the truth.
You and I,
We'll find the truth.

I wrote this piece in response to Donald Trump. He always berates people and attempts to bring them down. If we all stand up against all of the bad, we can rise above the hate, and we can maintain America's greatness.
