Star Born
I am from the stars and the light they hold
From the sun's molten rays and Neptune's suffocating frost
I am from a finger called Orion's spur
Between the arms of Perseus and Sagittarius
Who hold me close within their grasp
I am a daughter of the cosmos
The far away galaxies who call my name
I'm meant to find them
And travel home
I am a voyager, a drifting spirit
Drawn to the depths of the universe
I long to meet Andromeda
The neighbor whom I barely know
She so effortlessly taunts me
Waving at me from across our yards
Knowing she is out of my reach
I can never leave the confines of my blue and green prison
I can only sit, and watch, and listen
And hope that one day
Perhaps in another life
I will journey home
