Tiny Flower MAG
I noticed it one day when I was walking home
A tiny flower
It had pushed its way through the cracks
Red petals against the dirty gray gravel
I stepped over it and kept on going
I didn’t stop to consider what that tiny flower
had been through
A dog had sniffed it
A toddler pulled on its leaves
It had endured storms
Raindrops had weighed down its petals, but it
was still here
In the same way we often overlook others
She had a fight with her mom
He watched his dad walk out
We look at them with curiosity and confusion
We don’t realize they have pushed their way through the cracks of a tough world
It only takes a moment to notice something
as small as a tiny red flower
