Tiny Flower

I noticed it one day when I was walking home
A tiny flower
It had pushed its way through the cracks
Red petals against the dirty gray gravel
I stepped over it and kept on going
I didn’t stop to consider what that tiny flower had been through
A dog had sniffed it
A toddler pulled on it leaves
It had enured storms
Rain drop had weighed down it’s petals, but it was still here
In the same way we often overlook others
She had a fight with her mom
He watched his dad walk out
We look at them with curiosity and confusing
We don’t realize they have pushed their way through the cracks of a tough world
It only takes a moment to notice something as small
As a tiny red flower
