Opposite Day

A sunny February evening

The thermometer breaks eighty-five

I bask in the warm glow upon me

For sunkissed skin I strive

The endless sky before me

On yellow clouds I soar

The steady breeze dissipates

As it rumbles a lowly roar

A blue sun casts icy rays

On purple pavement above my head

Below the bench I ponder

Because normalcy is dead
