Losing Light
The summer sun grew darker as another light faded
Bright bulbs shined high in the sky
But now they just flicker
My heart is scorched and my breath is short
I rest as long as possible to try to skip the next day
I remove your pictures from the wall but keep the posters
Into a box so I can reminisce
I don’t want to live in the past
Luminescence that now twinkles but never flickers
