I am hidden behind these makeup creases and fake smiles 

I am hidden beneath the meaningless flirtation and small talk

I am hidden from everyone that hides 

I am hidden in a game of hide and seek 

where everyone encloses themselves with fakery and hate

I hide, bubbling up with a spontanious laugh 

I hide, skimming the surface of who I really am

I hide, opening up at a hug or over a milkshake 

I am me

I am me, banter and laughter and smiling manor 

I am me, up at midnight drawing to indie rock 

I am me, dancing to the rythm of my favorite song
