The bland furnishing of the office resonated flatly
We heavily awaited his arrival in drowsy chairs
Patricia stank of haste, calm as the frenzied downpour
Spoke with newfound urgency:
    “Don’t startle him,
he’s as small as our two fists”
The nonchalant office crescendoed with ecstasy
Grounded legs grew rhythmic with sporadic bouncing
A small yip escaped the solemn door
Opening like grand theater curtains
to the blundering of a harmless beast
