A Shot in The Dark

Life’s all about taking chances;
That's why I took a chance on you-
But my mind forgot to remind me that you’re a bad idea.
Mom always said that a person who values you
Wouldn’t put themselves in a position to lose you-
So clearly, this is what you always wanted.
But how could something so wrong, feel so right?
Life's measured by weekends and seconds,
But with you I wasn’t looking at the time.
I guess in the end we both had to pay the price-
Cause love don't come easy, baby,
even though I would've treated you right.
