The Dream
The urge I get to hit gets stronger and stronger
Until I can no longer hold it back
So I attack
Send them running to the track
Slammin into the wall
And then they fall
Watching that ball
Soar over the wall
While I round the bases
The crowd lets out a triumphant cheer
Nearly 50,000 people are here
Yankee stadium filled to the max
Back in the dugout I’m able to relax
As my teammates clap me on the back
But then my vision begins to fade
My childhood dream grayed
Grayed
Because I no longer played
That amazing game
That is the flame of a setting sun
The days as a boy of summer are done
