Mistakes
I look around and see
Empty chairs
Suddenly people start coming over
Sitting down
We talk and talk for hours
Like nothing was ever wrong
Then we talk about what I did
How inhumane it was
I try to explain to them that
I couldn’t have done
Something as bad as that
You don't understand
It was a mistake
It’s not my fault
I try to say
As they start to fade
One by one
Until all that I can see in the room
Is the white padded walls
