Where the Skin Meets
You have no idea
how hard it is
To just sit back and
Pretend I'm not awake
and that I don't want to trace your back
with my fingertips
And hold onto you
when my heart is racing
a thousand miles a minute
To see you in your most vulnerable state
You move around
our faces are inches from each other
I feel the heat radiating
off of where our skin meets
I'm still
Awake
Maybe we can blame this all on the night
High off of each other's energy
and drunk on each other's words
A cliché.
