I’m from the crib.
The railings that protect me.
I’m from my first step.
The walk up the stairs.
I’m from the first bowl of lucky charms.
The cartoons in the morning.
I’m from the first steps in the backyard.
To bouncing on the trampoline.
I’m from the first swing.
To the first tryout.
I’m from the first strikeout.
To the game winning pitch.
I’m from the call.
To the wait.
I’m from never giving up.
The effort, the grind.
I’m from making memories.
Never forgetting who I am.
