I am from summer walks in a stroller, from lake to lake and stream.
I am from the house on the corner, rowdy, obnoxious screaming kids kicking soccer balls and riding bikes,
from house to house, school to school, making new friends and not, crying...

I am from the garden in my backyard and bright red juicy tomatoes.
I am from the dirt in the garden digging holes and planting seeds,
from a shed with garden tools, falling from the shelf.

I am from the soft, chewy, sprinkled Italian cookies great grandma makes on Christmas.
I am from the Easter egg hunts on the soft, silky Destin Florida beaches,
from Sunday Packer games at my aunt's house, cheering and high fiving when a touchdown is made.

I am from 9:30 am mass on Sundays,
I am from Wauwatosa, white two story house with a brown fence, a red door knocked on in the morning by my grandma,
from Italian pasta dinners and red spaghetti sauce on a new white shirt.

I am from hip-hop to ballet class,
I am from dancing in the living room with my cousins,
from repeatedly saying “I love you to the moon and back” before I shut my eyes.

I am from summer walks in a stroller, from lake to lake and stream.
I am from the house on the corner, rowdy, obnoxious screaming kids kicking soccer balls and riding bikes.
From house to house, school to school, making friends and not, crying....
