I remember meeting you, I was 16.
Unsure of everything that came my way, suppressing it all, and simply inexperienced. At 16, meeting you felt like a dream; a dream come true of my dark-curly haired man on a horse.
You dropped into my life unexpectedly and I wasn't sure if I was ready for what was to come.
A new person, new feelings, letting you in- it was all overwhelming.
From the moment we met I felt the connection.
Felt how you were right for me in the moment that I was in.
The universe brought us together for a reason.
Time was no factor.
I, then turned 17, we matured.
Things became difficult, hearts were broken, mistakes were made, but the love remained. Forgiveness and growth came along, breaking habits, and learning new things came along with a new kind of love.
It transformed, fermented into unconditional love.
I am now 18, we are definitely experienced and growing together, constantly.
I am inexplicably joyous of these past revolutions around the sun we have spent together.
Even when apart, we were together.
Seeing ourselves grow makes me chuckle and
I am forever grateful for all the memories.
People say the most important love is the first, I second that.
It's definitely the one that comes after. It takes a whole lot to love someone else after your first love.
And I'm glad it was you.
I love you.
Through it all, you make it worth it.
