“It’s been years!” he says to me with a fake smile.
“I know!” I exclaim back. “How have you been?” I don’t care about his answer.
“Let’s sit and have a drink. Coffee?” He eventually asks.
“I would love that!” How do I get out of this?

“Remember that time…” I start.
“And your friends never found out!” He finished my sentence, as we burst out in laughter, like he used to. We sat and talked for hours. It felt comfortable and familiar, yet like I was talking to a stranger, when we used to be lovers. I want to go back, I like this feeling with him; together. I know it wouldn’t be the same.
“Look at the time, my wife’s meeting me for lunch in 15. Can we do this again?” He grabs my phone and plugs in his number, leaving with a smile. How do I delete a contact?
