What every teenage girl dreads becoming, I strive to be.
I am my mother,

I stay calm and steady, I forgive but I do not forget.
I am adventurous, I love laying on sunny beaches and climbing luscious mountains.

I mend broken people back to a whole, sacrificing parts of myself to better another.
I am an inspiration even when I don’t see it.

I give all I have to those in need, looking for nothing in return.
I am genuine, my laugh is the sound of pure joy.

I can entertain a crowd with one joke, blessed with beauty and intelligence.
I am told I am sassy, although I call it wit.

I can make a bruise better with one kiss, or cure tears with a smile,
I am a healer, from broken legs to broken hearts.

I am lucky, surrounded by unconditional support and love from my family.
How can I not be proud,
For I am my mother.
