“Grandma stop,” Complained the boy,
“Honey, I’m just trying to help you.” Said Grandma,
“Help me with what?” he asked,

Grandma started to explain,
“As you get older, you’re going to experience heartbreak, sadness, and loss.
Some days you’re just going to want to cry, and that is okay.
School will be hard sometimes but you just have to work hard.”

The boy still didn’t understand,
“What does that mean?” he asked,
“I don’t understand how this is going to help me.”

“You will figure it out someday,” sighed grandma.
“I am letting you know, things will get harder as you get older.
I want to watch you succeed and not to figure it out on your own.”

10 Years later, The boy turns 17, and grandma passed away.
Sad, the boy looks back at memories and remember what his grandma told him.
He thinks and cries, and thinks and cries.

The next day he gets up in front of family and friends and reads,
“My grandma once told me what I would have to face many hardships, including loss.
She told me that it is okay to cry, and yell and to feel what you feel.”

After his speech, he felt satisfied.
The once naive boy that didn’t care what his grandma said, now understands.
He felt wise and proud.

As the boy grew, he faced the things his grandma told him he would,
He preached to  his kids and to his family words from his grandma.
Little did he know, his grandma is watching from above, proud.
