The curtains flew open
the tiger watching her every move.
She paused in fear at the audience
before she sliced the air with an impossibly fast leap.
The spots on her leotard
danced delicately and nimbly.
She cruised gracefully through the routine
with practice and poise
the eyes of the audience watching every move.
But alas, she tripped,
her eyes wide with anxiety as the curtains closed
and the tiger that finally caught up.
