Do not look where you fell, but where you slipped. ~ African Proverb

Little girls like shiny things
Is that why little girls grow
And mutilate their mother’s face with plastic?
Is one mother’s face not enough
To carry beauty in a plastic filled land?
Or is society all stereotypes and hats?
Like actors on a screen or
People in masks like a masquerade?
What happened to natural beauty
In a society of plastic?
Landfills fill with natural beauty
And little girls fill with plastic
Is this all we are?
Plastic dolls to be molded?
Or are we something pure
Like the natural beauty handed down
Through mother to daughter
The question is not why
But when did this occur?
When did a society value plastic
Over the originality of every woman and man?

Plastic surgery is one thing that this society encourages. My opinion is that every person is beautiful just the way they are.
