Daydreams

In my dreams,

The ones that only last five minutes,

Seemingly a lifetime

Are false realities, only not false at all

Eye opening actually

Entire backstories are created

To make sense of what I visualize.

I remember feelings, experience them all over

That world can't be classified

As anything other than what I wanted and want to be for myself and others

It inspired me, and continues to

The flashbacks

Random clips replay

They bring their emotion, but that's okay

I can escape "everything will be okay."

And just be

Waking up for a brief moment

Then drifting off again

I remember how to sail

Drowing, stomach churning

I choke the salty tears away.

They flash back as well.

Afterwards I taste the fresh water

I'm afraid I'll forget all the details

I want to write them down

But when I try, I am flooded

So I let them pop up every now and then

It's alright I don't have to write

Because it happened.

Everything is a story, real or not

Someday, maybe I'll sleep again

Or should I say dream.

Those five minutes seem like a lifetime

Are in other worlds my lifetimes.

I have to decipher them soon

For now I'll close an eye and escape reality

Always appreciating the blue sky.

Dreams are always all over the place, but daydreams are a mix of the mystery of dreaming and being in reality.
