We were kids transformed grown-ups
Hopelessly and effortlessly infatuated with one another
We are adults with bills to pay
Problems to fix
And mouths to feed
But we persisted through our fantasy transformed reality.
Then, one day,
We woke up,
From our childish dream,
Transformed nightmare.
