One cannot exist without the other.
A dark room full of light,
Or a light room full of darkness.
Light overpowering the darkness,
Or darkness overpowering the light.
It is an ongoing battle,
With victories on both of the sides.

The battle of light and dark took place.
The two fought hard back and forth.
Darkness was not shy of light,
Nor was light shy of darkness.
The silence of the night permeated the area,
While the battle of light and dark took place.

The light scurried into the room.
Showing off its radiant glow.
Slowly it made its way over the space.
Its fluorescent features complimented the darkness,
Like the moon complimented the night sky.
The light attacked the darkness,
For the light scurried into the room.

Darkness consumed the room.
Devouring all sources of light.
Blackness plagued all empty spaces,
Cramming the room from wall to wall.
The darkness glided across all the surfaces,
For darkness consumed the room.

Light glistened off the vibrant fire.
Like a flickering blaze of hope.
The monstrous flames invaded the room,
Taking away the darkness’s control,
For light glistened off the vibrant fire.

The fire relinquished the darkness.
The colorless spark of the smoldering ember defeated the bright fire.
The smoke that rose flooded the room,
And the black ash lay below the fire.
The fire submissively resigned to the nightfall,
For the fire relinquished to the darkness.

Light slipped its way in from the window.
Sneaking its way in through the blinds.
Slivers of light entered the room.
Light from the moon,
The stars,
The streetlights.
Their faint illumination alleviated the blackness of the dark room,
For light slipped its way in in from the window.

Darkness snuck in through the window.
The dark clouds in the night sky were no match for the room.
The pitch-black color of nightfall submerged the space with fear.
The cold, dark night melted into the room.
Nightfall came by quickly,
For darkness snuck in through the window.

A candle glowed in the dark room.
Its weak, little flame fought hard.
A small source of light took on the dark room.
Only able to brighten a small piece of the darkness.
But something was better than nothing,
And it lightened the room,
For a candle glowed in the dark room.

The candle surrendered to the darkness.
Its dim light made no difference.
The night was too overpowering.
Leaving the candle as a hopeless, worthless flicker.
The candle was no competition for the darkness,
For the candle surrendered to the darkness.

Smiles and laughs brightened the room.
The light was very cheering.
The laughs were above us.
The smiles tormented us through the dark.
But the room was still brightened,
For smiles and laughs brightened the room.

Shadows filled the room.
They emerged through the darkness.
Enhancing the gloomy, evil atmosphere.
The shadows let out their wicked laugh.
The shadows let out their evil screams.
Their presence was always there,
For the shadows filled the room.

While the battle of light and dark took place,
The silence of the night permeated the room.
Light was not shy of darkness,
Nor was darkness shy of light.
The two fought hard back and forth,
For the battle of light and dark took place.

With victories on both of the sides,
It is an ongoing battle.
Darkness overpowering the light,
And light overpowering the darkness.
A light room full of darkness,
And a dark room full of light.
One cannot exist without the other.
