Goodbye
I entered this room, I entered this very world so blind, cold and alone...
I ask "Hi how are you?!"
And get a very distance response..
This world full of humans that have learned to accept one another...
... yet not really...
This world that bonds are created and are strengthened in every individual...
.... yet some are excluded...
I alone travel this path of darkness that leads only to death, for death is the only thing that's certain in life...
I live within a society that one may exist solitude even though people surround them...
Tears fill my eyes and anger swells up inside me...
Yet, I do nothing...
I attempt to approach this world head on! But in the end the response is always the same...
Hello, how are you?
Oh, you've lost interest,
Goodbye
Hi my name is Matthew!
Oh you don't care?,
Goodbye.
Hello! *I tell you a joke, and you smile, but then you leave…*
Goodbye.
Hola! Como estas? Puedo ayudarte?
Oh, you despise me for reasons I fail to know?
Goodbye.
HELLO WORLD! I'm ready to make this Earth a better place...
Then...
Then…
you reject me...?
Goodbye...
*BANG*

I was at a leadership convention with the National Hispanic Institute when I wrote this piece. I felt so alone in the beginning and I didn’t know anybody there, for I was the only one from my whole entire state. I preformed this at the talent show that we call Noche. After I performed this, and was congratulated, I finally realized that I wasn’t alone in this world after all. I realized that I had found true friends. I found a family.
