Casualty of Violence
Blood runs and quickly
Soaks the frigid, hard ground.
Ruptured lungs leave him unable to breath
Yet he’s a fighter,
Refusing to give in.
Shattered bones force him to remain still
As fear settles in.
He coughs and desperately calls for help.
No sound is heard and it doesn't matter.
Not even a rat remains in the
Cold, dark alleyway.
Anyone would do at this point
But the cars keep driving and
People dare not to walk the streets
Especially not here
So unfortunately the help he needs
Will never come.
Weakened dramatically
Shuddering and shaking
He swears he sees an angel.
And as night fades to day,
His last breath slowly,
Fades away.
