Barbie and Ken
We all once loved Barbie,
And her dreamy boyfriend Ken.
We loved her fake dream house
And we loved her fake friends.
We loved her pink convertible,
And her closets full of shoes.
We loved her so much,
How could she ever become old news?
But some of us have grown up,
And focused on the real,
For life isn’t plastic
And being fake is not ideal.
So I challenge you this,
Stay true to you,
Don’t talk behind other’s backs
And don’t lie and be blue.
Reality is not like the dream house,
Our childish antics need to end,
Be a person full of feelings and thoughts,
Not just a fake, plastic doll like Barbie and Ken.
