Dark Reality
There is a story about Plato’s Cave.
How there were several men
forever locked away.
Then one escaped and touched reality.
He came back to persuade the others to escape.
They refused, and alternatively stayed,
and became Statues through the night and day.
The Cave is a living room,
with Television and all,
because people would rather sit and see
than run free but
someone needs to pull that Plug,
to keep the world from becoming Statues.
Statues don’t need Food,
statues don’t need water,
statues don’t need hugs,
statues don’t feel pain.
And not one human,
would want to live that way.
